I found Mount Vernon Computer Repair in the mist of a crisis with my work laptop. I had accidentally caused water damage and was panicked that I’d not only destroyed my laptop but lost all my important files. Working with Daryl was great. He called me back promptly, examined and diagnosed my computer all in the same day. He runs a very honest business and explained that the damage was so extensive it would be more affordable to replace the laptop. Luckily my data could be saved which was a relief. My teenager did not properly back up her laptop. So, when it totally crashed she lost access to her English final and all her junior year school files. In a panic we called Daryl on a Sat morning. He was able to retrieve all her files and make them available for use on either a PC or Mac. We have both and were not sure which computer would be used to finish up the school year. We had the all her files by 6pm that same Sat. You will not go wrong with Daryl. His prices are reasonable and we found him knowledgeable and honest. I accidentally deleted a folder. Should I try free recovery software?
Please don’t install anything on that computer yet. Installing software can overwrite the very files you’re trying to save. Stop using it and call us; we’ll recover them the safe way.
Can you recover files after I emptied the Recycle Bin or Trash?
Often, yes, especially if the computer hasn’t been used much since. Deleted files usually stay on the drive until something new is written over them, which is why stopping quickly matters.
Do I have to drop my computer off?
No. We can start at your home, and if the job needs more time on our bench we’ll pick the computer up and bring it back when it’s done.
