Recovering memories for our Mount Vernon neighbors

Many of the computers we see in Waynewood, Hollin Hills, and Stratford Landing hold twenty years of grandchildren, travel, and family history. When one stops working, we come to your home, take a careful look, and tell you plainly what we can likely recover.

This is the community we’re named for. Many of our longest-standing clients live just off the Parkway, and we treat their photos like our own.

“I purchased a new laptop and Daryl transferred all data from my old laptop. He also fixed the WiFi extender and disconnected the old laptop from our home WiFi network. He always explains what he’s doing which helps me understand my laptop and WiFi. I highly recommend Mt. Vernon Computers.”

I was extremely satisfied with the services I received from Mount Vernon Computers. Mr. Elliot was knowledgeable and efficient in salvaging my hard drive from my previous computer and setting up my new PC.

My teenager did not properly back up her laptop. So, when it totally crashed she lost access to her English final and all her junior year school files. In a panic we called Daryl on a Sat morning. He was able to retrieve all her files and make them available for use on either a PC or Mac. We have both and were not sure which computer would be used to finish up the school year. We had the all her files by 6pm that same Sat. You will not go wrong with Daryl. His prices are reasonable and we found him knowledgeable and honest. We will be using Daryl again for any future problems.

Daryl has been my go-to-guy for years. I have always found him to be very responsive and great at diagnosing problems. Recently, I had a hard drive failure on a Friday when I urgently needed my computer over the weekend. Daryl was able to get me up and running until he could install a new drive on Monday. A TRUE PROFESSIONAL! We are fortunate to have him in our neighborhood.

07 / FAQ

Questions from Mount Vernon & Fort Hunt neighbors

Can you get photos off an old computer we haven’t used in years?

Usually, yes. Old drives can be fragile, so let us handle it rather than powering it on repeatedly. We can copy everything to a new computer, a USB drive, or the cloud so the whole family can see them.

Do I have to drop my computer off?

No. We can start at your home, and if the job needs more time on our bench we’ll pick the computer up and bring it back when it’s done.

Can you move my recovered files to a new computer?

Yes. Once your files are safe, we can set up a new or repaired machine and put everything back where you expect it, then set up backups so it doesn’t happen again.
