A laptop that will not charge or a desktop that will not turn on is one of the most common calls we get in Mount Vernon. The cause is usually the charger, the battery, the charging port or a power supply, and we test each one.
We visit homes in Fort Hunt, Hollin Hills and Belle Haven with test equipment and common replacement parts. Many power repairs are finished the same day.
Why Mount Vernon neighbors call us
Safe Disposal
We recycle old swollen or worn batteries safely so you do not have to.
USB-C Expertise
We check wattage and cable ratings on newer USB-C laptops.
Backup Power Tested
Battery backup units are tested so they work when the power goes out.
What We Repair
Worn-out batteries
Batteries that drain fast or will not hold a charge are replaced with a matched battery.
Charging port repair
Loose or damaged charging ports are repaired so the laptop charges reliably again.
Desktop power supplies
Desktop power supplies that fail or cause shutdowns are tested and replaced.
Will not turn on
When a computer will not turn on at all, we test the charger, battery, power supply and board in order.
Sudden shutdowns
Shutdowns without warning are traced to the battery, power supply or overheating.
Chargers and cables
We test chargers and cables and help you get the correct replacement for your laptop.
Surge damage
After a storm or surge, we test what was damaged and replace only the parts that failed.
Battery backups
We set up surge protectors and battery backups so outages do not damage your equipment.
Power problems after storms
Summer storms along the Potomac can cause power surges that damage chargers and power supplies. If your computer stopped working after a storm, we test the charger and power supply first and recommend a surge protector to prevent the next one.
