Hard drive recovery without leaving Lorton

Out on Mason Neck or tucked into Laurel Hill, the nearest repair counter can be a long drive with a fragile computer on the seat. We come to you, check the machine where it is, and tell you honestly what can be saved.

Lorton’s summer storms and power flickers are hard on desktops. If a computer hasn’t been right since an outage, call us before the drive fails completely.

After recovery we’ll move your files to a repaired or new computer and recommend surge protection and an automatic backup so the next storm doesn’t cost you anything.

My teenager did not properly back up her laptop. So, when it totally crashed she lost access to her English final and all her junior year school files. In a panic we called Daryl on a Sat morning. He was able to retrieve all her files and make them available for use on either a PC or Mac. We have both and were not sure which computer would be used to finish up the school year. We had the all her files by 6pm that same Sat. You will not go wrong with Daryl. His prices are reasonable and we found him knowledgeable and honest. We will be using Daryl again for any future problems.

07 / FAQ

Questions from Lorton neighbors

My desktop hasn’t worked right since a power outage. Is my data at risk?

Possibly. Power surges can damage drives and power supplies. Unplug it, avoid repeated restarts, and call us. We’ll check it on-site and recover your files before trying any repairs.

Can you recover files after I emptied the Recycle Bin or Trash?

Often, yes, especially if the computer hasn’t been used much since. Deleted files usually stay on the drive until something new is written over them, which is why stopping quickly matters.

Can you move my recovered files to a new computer?

Yes. Once your files are safe, we can set up a new or repaired machine and put everything back where you expect it, then set up backups so it doesn’t happen again.
