I found Mount Vernon Computer Repair in the mist of a crisis with my work laptop. I had accidentally caused water damage and was panicked that I’d not only destroyed my laptop but lost all my important files. Working with Daryl was great. My teenager did not properly back up her laptop. So, when it totally crashed she lost access to her English final and all her junior year school files. In a panic we called Daryl on a Sat morning. He was able to retrieve all her files and make them available for use on either a PC or Mac. We have both and were not sure which computer would be used to finish up the school year. We had the all her files by 6pm that same Sat. You will not go wrong with Daryl. His prices are reasonable and we found him knowledgeable and honest. Can you recover files for my small business without taking the computer away?

What should I do as soon as my computer stops working?
Turn it off and leave it off. Running a failing drive, or installing recovery software onto it, can overwrite the very files you want back. Call us and we’ll walk you through the safest next step.
Can you recover files after I emptied the Recycle Bin or Trash?
Often, yes, especially if the computer hasn’t been used much since. Deleted files usually stay on the drive until something new is written over them, which is why stopping quickly matters.
