Arlington laptops often juggle work apps, dozens of browser tabs and streaming at the same time. When yours starts to lag, we find out what is using the memory and processor and get it running quickly again.
We visit apartments and homes in Ballston, Clarendon, Shirlington and Crystal City. Many speed-ups can be started remotely, and we come in person when the fix needs hardware.
Why Arlington calls us
Upgrades Only When They Help
We recommend an SSD or more memory only when the numbers show it will make a difference.
Malware Checked
Hidden adware and malware are a common cause of slowdowns, so we scan for them every time.
Honest Upgrade Advice
If the computer is too old to speed up much, we say so.
Where the Speed Comes From
Hardware health check
We finish with a health check of the drive, memory and temperatures so you know the computer is sound.
Faster boot times
Long startup times are often caused by apps loading in the background. We clean up the startup list.
SSD upgrades
Replacing an old hard drive with an SSD is usually the biggest speed boost. We clone everything over.
Adding memory
If your computer runs out of memory, we install more and confirm the improvement.
Hidden malware removal
We remove adware, pop-ups and malware that use your computer’s resources in the background.
Windows tuning
We adjust Windows settings, clear temporary files and fix issues that drag down performance.
Faster web browsing
We tidy up Chrome, Edge or Firefox so browsing feels quick again.
Current drivers and software
We install the latest drivers and program updates so everything runs as it should.
Too many browser tabs
Browsers are often the biggest memory user on a laptop. We remove extensions you do not need, set the browser to put unused tabs to sleep and check whether the laptop has enough memory for the way you work. Those small changes make a noticeable difference.
What customers say
Daryl has been my go-to-guy for years. I have always found him to be very responsive and great at diagnosing problems. Recently, I had a hard drive failure on a Friday when I urgently needed my computer over the weekend. Daryl was able to get me up and running until he could install a new drive on Monday. A TRUE PROFESSIONAL! We are fortunate to have him in our neighborhood.Read full review
I am pleased and impressed by the quick response and services provided. I’d been dreading the task of getting my computer serviced and Daryl made it so easy. He picked it up, kept in touch regarding what it needed, and when he returned it, took the time to show me some shortcuts and navigation tools.Read full review
